TO BEGIN THE WORLD OVER AGAIN, 2024
What conditions existed in 1776 America to convince Thomas Paine that American had the power to being the world over again? How did its constitution drive America’s rise? Why is she in decline, though still a great power? Is a permanently free sovereign state even possible, or is it too late?
This essay explores these questions.
America’s Original Spirit: Rise, Demise, Recovery, 2014
THE PROMETHEUS FRONTIER, 2021
The Prometheus Frontier is a fictional sequel to the author’s 2014 non-fiction Prometheus Connection. In that book, the final chapter sets forth an imagined ideal society of reason and freedom.
As a fictional sequel, The Prometheus Frontier dramatizes how that ideal society might come to be—the what, the how, and the why of it.
The what is a sovereign island acquired by an inspired and brilliant visionary who has amassed a titanic fortune. The how is a group of men and women fired by his vision who have formed a society to actualize it. The why is a declaration of freedom, the seminal founding document, advancing the philosophy making this vision possible and driving it to actualization.
Many dream of an ideal society and have imagined a number of ways it might happen. Often, they are based on fantasy.
But other scenarios are based upon reality—on what already exists. The Prometheus Frontier is one of them.
THEME: A sovereign island nation begins the world over again.
PLOT THEME: Arete, a totally free island nation, unimaginably flourishes, while an envious, threatened world seeks to annihilate it.
