Thomas Paine Institute

JOIN US . . . in Creating a Socioeconomic System of Pure Capitalism

Are you concerned with the steady erosion of freedom in America and in the world at large? If you are, then the Thomas Paine Institute (TPI) offers you an exciting and unique challenge, unlike that of any other freedom-loving initiative.

TPI is inspired by the firebrand pamphleteer, Thomas Paine, who early in 1776, in “Common Sense,” cried out to the American colonists, “We have it in our power to begin the world over again,” urging separation from British tyranny. At the  same time, Paine declared that “nothng can settle our affairs [grievances with Britain] so expeditiously as an open and determined Declaration of Independence.” Thomas Jefferson rose to the challenge, and that Declaration led to all the rest.

How is TPI unique? It is unique in its focus on starting the world over again–again–in a new place from scratch. Our founding essay, “To Begin the World Over Again,” makes clear that while working for change through incremental improvement is essential for damage control, repressive socioeconomic systems are continually reinforced by the entrenched bureaucracies that led to them in the first place. Once established, such systems become virtually irreversible.

The challenges of starting over in a new place from scratch are great. In meeting them, we again start, reminiscent of 1776, with a Declaration–this time a Declaration of Freedom, a vital founding document, the soul of our vision, and the driver of all the rest. Our Declaration of Freedom will be the preamble of our future Constitution.

Read our Declaration of Freedom. Be inspired. Be challenged. JOIN US in pursuing our unique and uniquely challenging vision–one that is, also, uniquely exhilarating.
